CityGuide DMS supports the following Extras and Preferences:
Jump to destination Decides, wether you jump to the desired destination/object, or move there "on the fly". If you have a slow internet connection or time is critical for the application of your program it is recommended to activate this option.
Playback Sound Toggles the playback of soundclips on or off. When this option is selected you will hear a sound through the sound chip of your computer when clicking on a button or menu item within CityGuide DMS.
Save Preferences and Load Default Settings
CityGuide DMS 5.0 allows you to save your current preferences, such as the current map, map view, coordinates, etc., for later use of the program. If, for example, you would like to use the CityGuide-application always in fullscreen mode, you will first have to switch into the same. Afterwards, choose "Preferences...->Save" from the "Extras" menu or press the [F4]-key. Your preferences will now be saved in a cookie (a miniature text file on your computer), and CityGuide DMS will continue to start in fullscreen mode. Accordingly you also have the possibility to discard your preferences and restore the default values of the program. Simply choose "Preferences...->Restore" from the "Extras" menu or press the key combination [Ctrl+F4]. Your preferences will be reverted to their default settings and saved again in the cookie (the miniature text file on your computer). Please note that in order to make use of the save and restore options your browser must have "Javascript" and "Cookies" activated. This can be checked by looking at the color coded control rectangle which is shown on the lower right hand side of your map window. Green indicates that "Javascript" and "Cookies" are activated and that your preferences can be saved anytime. Red indicates that you will have to change these settings in your browser and restart it in order to make use of those functions.
