Coordinate-Functions

CityGuide DMS supports the following Coordinate-Functions:

  • Coordinates Off
Coordinates are hidden from the map window.
  • Gauß-Krüger
Coordinates are displayed in topographic measurement units (Coordinates of the german federal survey)
  • Geographical
Coordinates are displayed in degrees of longitude and latitude.
  • UTM
Coordinates are displayed in units of the "
    Universal Transverse Mercator"-System.

As soon as a coordinate system has been activated, the respective rulers will display together with the map date on the left and upper side of the map window. Once you move your mouse cursor across the map window the corelating coordinates will show in real time in the upper half of the top ruler.

Identify Coordinates

In order to identify a certain coordinate of your current source map you will have to start with selecting the desired coordinate system. Continue to select the entry "Identify Coordinates" and click on the desired location within your map window

Upon clicking on the map a dialogue will appear presenting you the chosen coordinates. These can now be copied into your clip board and thus be transferred to any other application.

Insert Coordinates

In order to lead the current position of your source map to a given destination you have to start by activating the "Gauss-Krüger" coordinate system. Only the latter is supported with this function within CityGuide DMS Version 5.0

Now select "Insert Coordinates".

A dialogue will appear asking you to insert the desired Gauss-Krüger coordinates into a blank field. After pressing "OK" the dialogue will close and the new position will be acquired in the map window.
